Metropolis
property details
An architectural gem, Metropolis showcases Premier’s hallmark attention to detail. The 600,000-square-foot open-air lifestyle center is the realization of a decade-long plan. Metropolis stands as a progressive shopping and entertainment destination tailored for the future. Anchors include a 95,000-square-foot prototype JC Penney, which opened in November 2003, a 90,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Rave Theater with 18 screens and a 66,000-square-foot, two-level Dick’s Sporting Goods.
JC Penney’s success is surely a strong indicator of the success of Metropolis. One of three prototype stores for JC Penney, the 2006 sales for the Plainfield location put the store 30 percent over the expected year end plan.
In addition to the anchor tenants, Metropolis’ Phase I alone encompasses nearly 60 stores, many of which are new to the Indianapolis Westside market. The tenant mix includes some of the hottest retailers representing all segments of the fashion spectrum, contemporary accessories, home fashion and furnishings and an array of dining choices previously unavailable in this market. First-time Westside retailers include Victoria’s Secret, Coldwater Creek, J.Jill, Ann Taylor Loft, Chico’s, ULTA Cosmetics and Claddagh Irish Pub.
In addition to exceptional retail, Metropolis is defined by its entertainment. The shopping experience is enhanced by an aggressive events calendar. Storytellers, puppets, mimes, magicians, musical performances, festivals and exhibits transform many shopping trips into an experience that has customers returning to enjoy again and again.
